He joins a ragtag family of humans and animal-children hybrids like himself in search of answers about this new world and the mystery behind his hybrid origins.
Here, Mickle — who also served as the showrunner on the Team Downey/DC Entertainment/Warner Bros. TV series — talks about wrapping up the high-concept series and which hybrid he’s probably going to miss the most.

Nach einem Screening von „Alles steht Kopf 2“ am Freitag verriet Pixars Filmchef Pete Docter, dass „Toy Story 5“ von einem alten Bekannten gedreht werden soll, „Findet Nemo“-Regisseur Andrew Stanton.
Ultimativer Pixar-Klassiker: „Toy Story 5“ (Credit: Pixar / Disney)

Netflix isn't just known for cancellations, especially in recent years.
It's also the reigning champion of spontaneous cancellations, catching fans off-guard and delivering some real gut punches.
Some refer to it as a cancellation loop, and it's making viewers wary of investing their time and subscription money on new and exciting shows.
Netflix is dealing with the self-inflicted wounds that come with popular shows, forcing them into an endless loop that's not based on reality but perception.
It's also changing successful, tried-and-true storytelling formulas and driving creators to other streaming platforms so their product stands a chance at longevity.
To be fair, this is not unique to Netflix, especially as other streaming platforms continue to grow.
But Netflix is the Og with the most shows and brand recognition.
Because of that, the damage to the brand from especially infamous cancellations feels more extensive to fans.

While audiences can always recognize brilliant acting, they don't necessarily know how much effort the actors put into bringing their favorite characters to life. Preparation often goes beyond reading the script and memorizing lines. To be believable, many actors must delve deeply into their characters.
This, combined with the everyday complications of life, can be too much for anyone to handle. Joe Keery, who gave one of the best performances in the fifth installment of the anthology series Fargo, was very happy when he had the chance to let go of his character.
Who Does Joe Keery Play in Fargo?
The young actor's career may have been launched by Netflix's sci-fi thriller Stranger Things, but it has been given another boost by his appearance on FX's Fargo. And while Steve Harrington and Gator Tillman both know their way around a bat, the characters could not be more different.

Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt are two superstars in their own rights. One, a Stranger Things prodigy who recently got married, the other, a Marvel star and an industry veteran who has been seen in his fair share of hilarious roles over the years.

But what happens when the two come together? While that has not happened as of yet, it is about to, in the form of a Netflix movie that also boasts of Anthony and Joe Russo as the two directors. The summer movie kickoff has been a little bumpy, but the staff at IMDb have their sights set on several highly anticipated movies and shows coming out in June.
See IMDb’s June Picks
If you need something light and fun for the weekend, check out Glen Powell and Adria Arjona in ‘Hit Man’ on Netflix. Based on the true story of part-time undercover investigator Gary Johnson, director Richard Linklater's crime comedy finds Powell moonlighting as a fake hit man who starts to fall for a woman who enlists his services.
Those looking for thrills and chills can head to the theater, where Will Smith and Martin Lawrence go undercover in ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die,’ and Dakota Fanning finds herself trapped with a bunch of strangers under spooky circumstances in the directorial debut of M. Night Shyamalan's daughter, Ishana Night Shyamalan.
The rest of June will keep many fans busy with new episodes of three Emmy-winning series: Season 4 of “The Boys” (6/13) on Prime Video, Season 2 of “House of the Dragon” (6/16) on Max, and Season 3 of “The Bear” (6/27) on Hulu.
There’s not a ton on the menu for families, but ‘Inside Out 2’ is expected to be one of 2024’s box office bright spots. The Pixar sequel brings back Riley’s original emotions and adds Maya Hawke (“Stranger Things”) as Anxiety and Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear’) as Ennui.
Take a look at all the staff picks for the month in our guide, where you can watch trailers, read more about what’s coming, and add movies and shows to your Watchlist....

With the unofficial beginning of summer — Memorial Day — come and gone, the season has entered full swing. Several of the summer weekends will be crowded at the box office with sometimes three releases competing on similar dates. With action films like Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, A Quiet Place: Day One and Twisters taking us through July, some animated adventures like Inside Out 2 and Despicable Me 4 will provide fun for whole families.
Deadpool 3 will cap off July with a new Marvel installment from Shawn Levy, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, making way for more sinister films ahead of fall like M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap and Alien: Romulus. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice deserves an honorable mention although it won’t hit theaters until September to lead into spooky season and October.

Netflix Animation held its first slate preview event June 6 at the Tudum in L.A., as a lead-up to the Annecy Animation Festival (June 9-15), where it will premiere Shannon Tindle’s “Ultraman: Rising” (streaming June 14) and tout some of its upcoming works in 2024 and 2025.
Hosted by Christopher Sean (the voice star of “Ultraman: Rising”), attendees were treated to exclusive presentations, previews, and special announcements. The biggest announcement was the full title of Aardman’s next stop-motion feature, “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl,” which will have an Oscar-qualifying run this winter before streaming in 2025.
Directed by franchise creator Nick Park and creative director Merlin Crossingham, who offered a pre-recorded introduction, “Vengeance Most Fowl” marks the return of the villainous penguin, Feathers McGraw, from the Oscar-winning short “The Wrong Trousers.” The film is a cautionary tale of high-tech gone wrong involving an out-of-control “smart gnome” with a mind of its own.

Each season of Stranger Things feels unique and captivating, both tonally and stylistically, and fans love to argue which of the four is best. Much of the fandom enjoys the first season’s novelty and tight scripts. The horror elements and intimate setting made Hawkins shine. Others enjoy the fourth season the most because of its blockbuster size and scope. The introduction of Vecna as the endgame villain also raised the stakes beyond what the first three seasons’ antagonists could. That often leaves season 2 and season 3 fighting for the bottom of the rankings, and the second season’s similarities to season 1 make for a safer bet when putting together the hierarchy.
Stranger Things season 3 was still critically acclaimed and well-loved by audiences at the time of release. In the five years since, this return to the Upside Down has been criticized for various reasons, though. The eight episodes took place during the summer,...

Netflix released first look photos for the upcoming installment of the European-set comedy in early June, teasing dynamics between Emily and Gabriel, Emily and Alfie, Emily and Mindy, Emily and Camille and more.

It looks like the retooled Avengers 5 movie is starting to come together, with Marvel Studios eyeing Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy as the top choice to helm the film.
As first reported by Deadline, Levy has been given the latest script penned by Michael Waldron (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness). Though Marvel is keeping other potential directors in the mix after Levy previously turned down the role in March, it sounds like the studio is doing everything it can to accommodate him.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the window of opportunity to land Levy comes after Marvel pushed the timetable for Avengers 5 by several months, which could allay any scheduling conflicts with the final season of Stranger Things.
Deadline also has some details about the script for Avengers 5. It previously was centered around Jonathan Majors’ character, Kang the Conqueror, until Marvel parted ways with the actor in December.

For a while now, the status of Marvel’s next Avengers movie has been in flux. Back in July 2022, Kevin Feige announced that the Multiverse Saga would offer up two major hero team-up movies: Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and Avengers: Secret Wars. But in the wake of underperforming Phase 4 movies, and Jonathan Majors being dropped as Kang after an assault conviction, the plan changed – The Kang Dynasty is no more, Shang-Chi’s Destin Daniel Cretton stepped down from directing to focus on Shang-Chi 2 instead, and little has moved since then.
Until now. Because, according to Deadline, Marvel is eyeing up Shawn Levy as the man to next assemble the Avengers on screen. The filmmaker is currently hard at work in the final stages of Deadpool & Wolverine, which is gearing up to be a real big box office win – and, as a result, Marvel Studios is said to be keen...

Out of all the movies on Marvel Studios’ release schedule, the ‘Avengers’ series is definitely the most exciting. We know that two new ‘Avengers’ movies are being worked on, and for the fifth one, a lot has happened in the past few months.
The latest news and rumors give us more details, as Deadline reports that the studio is getting close to picking a director for the movie.
According to Deadline, Waldron has handed the script for the upcoming movie to Shawn Levy. Levy is known for ‘Night at the Museum,’ ‘Stranger Things,’ ‘Free Guy,’ and the upcoming ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ which is expected to be a huge hit.
Levy hasn’t accepted the role yet, and we should get confirmation in the coming weeks. Deadline also reports that over 60 MCU characters might return, including Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, Simu Liu, and Karen Gillan. Unlike the...

Marvel Studios reportedly wants Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy director to take charge of The Avengers 5.
In what has so far been a summer characterised by underperforming tentpole films, all eyes are on the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine to get bums in cinema seats.
Because the film was pushed from its original May slot into late July, it will be a bit late to save what has so far been a dismal summer at the box office, but cinema operators will likely be happy to see the film no matter when it arrives.
Shawn Levy has directed the film and according to reports, the Free Guy director may well be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to take on the biggest gig of them all: the next Avengers movie. Marvel Studios may have finally found a director for the next Avengers movie.
According to both Deadline and THR, Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy is in talks to helm the project, which was formerly known as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty prior to the departure of Jonathan Majors as the villainous Kang the Conqueror.
The studio reportedly offered Levy the gig in mid-March, but he turned it down at the time as he was still putting the finishing touches on Deadpool and Wolverine and was also working on the final season of Stranger Things.
Apparently, Marvel's decision to "push the film by several months" opened the window of opportunity, and negotiations are now underway.
It sounds like this if far from a done deal, however. Levy is said to have been given the latest script by Michael Waldron, but has not given an answer on whether he will definitely come aboard,...

Deadpool & Wolverine is not in theaters for almost another two months, but the hopes and aspirations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe—and perhaps now the summer movie season box office itself—are already being placed on Ryan Reynolds’ broad, leather-clad shoulders. So it’s not like the Merc with a Mouth needed any more pressure. Yet pressure he might receive if the latest report out of Deadline is true: director Shawn Levy has entered early talks to helm the next Avengers movie.
The discussions are apparently in early stages, with the trade noting Levy has been handed the latest draft of the screenplay by Michael Waldron, but that Levy has apparently not decided if he would like to direct the film. Furthermore, Marvel Studios will continue approaching other directors while awaiting an answer about Levy’s interest. However, it would seem that Marvel has seen something they like in...

The Avengers may be assembling for Shawn Levy.
Levy, who is busy putting the final touches on Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine, is in contention for the film and may be the studio’s choice to direct the next Avengers film.
The development is characterized as very early. Sources say Marvel and Levy are talking about the project and that the studio gave the latest script to the filmmaker late last week. But sources also say that other filmmakers are in the mix for the high-profile gig.
There is reason for some caution. Marvel previously — and quietly — offered the directing gig to Levy in mid-March, but at that point, the filmmaker turned it down. Scheduling was the concern at the time, as Levy is moving from various duties on Deadpool & Wolverine, which opens July 26, to the last season of Stranger Things. He is due to direct two episodes of the Netflix series,...

As Deadpool & Wolverine stands ready to save the summer box office, Marvel Studios may be looking to director Shawn Levy to save the Avengers as well. Deadline has heard that Levy has been given Michael Waldron‘s script for the next Avengers movie, and while no decisions have been made, it’s possible the studio may be eyeing him to direct the film.
Deadline adds that Marvel is “still planning to meet with other directors while they wait on a decision from [Levy].” However, he’s got some big projects on his slate. He will be “heavily involved” in the final season of Stranger Things and is also developing a Star Wars movie for Lucasfilm. Even if Levy doesn’t end up directing the next Avengers movie, I’d wager that he definitely has a future at Marvel, particularly as the studio seems to have a lot of faith in Deadpool & Wolverine.

The sci-fi horror A Quiet Place franchise is heading to New York with its latest entry, A Quiet Place: Day One, which is set to reach theatres on June 28th – and with that release date just a few weeks away, Empire has published an interview with director Michael Sarnoski, who earned a lot of positive attention with his feature directorial debut Pig (watch it Here) a few years ago, in which he discusses what it was like to enter the world that was created by John Krasinski, the director of A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place: Part II.
Sarnoski said, “When [Krasinski] first brought me onto the project, his directive was, ‘Can you bring some of that Pig touch to the A Quiet Place universe?’ What he wanted was to see someone else play in the sandbox that he had created. Finding those differences was exciting. It wasn’t something that we leaned away from.

Ironically, the star sat down with Glamour to talk about her upcoming role in A Quiet Place: Day One, releasing on June 28, where her character owns a cat. “I asked the director Michael Sarnoski if there was any way that we could change the animal,” Nyong’o said. “I suggested an armadillo; he was not having it.”

Lupita Nyong’o is embarking on a global press tour as the star of Paramount’s horror prequel “A Quiet Place: Day One,” but she could probably do without the press junkets. During an interview with Glamour magazine, the Oscar winner was asked about what irritates her most about being an actor.
“Interviews,” she answered. “You asked. I have to be honest. I’m going to tell you.”
Nyong’o clarified by saying that she does not necessarily mean all interviews are torture, but she does find press junkets to be a “torture technique” as “different people are being ferried in” to ask the same questions. She added: “You have to give each one of them attention, focus and an articulate answer that you just gave to the person before. That’s irritating.”

When we first reconnect with Frasier Crane in the “Frasier” revival, the character is thriving. Since his departure from Seattle at the end of the original “Frasier” series in 2004, he has become a household name, having hosted a popular TV talk show for years in Chicago. And although he remains unlucky in love, Frasier exudes more confidence than ever before when we see him in the Boston-set update.
“He’s certainly refined and more comfortable in his own skin,” Grammer says of his on-screen alter ego, first seen on “Cheers” in 1984. “He’s a fuller man than he used to be. He knows more. He’s wiser.”
The same might be said for Grammer. Of course, he isn’t really Frasier, but having played the character for four decades, their paths are inextricably linked. Ask Grammer about how he personally has evolved over that same time frame, and it’s...

Mike Flanagan may be a master of horror, but according to the director, one of the biggest nightmares he experienced was trying to get Netflix to put out physical media. His stance on the matter has been documented, but it was a topic Flanagan again addressed at the 2024 Atx Festival.
The showrunner, who created Netflix series “Haunting Of Hill House,” “The Haunting Of Bly Manor,” “Midnight Mass,” and “The Fall of The House of Usher,” wrote on his blog in 2023 that he asked the streaming platform to release his shows on Blu-ray and DVD. Didn’t happen. Also in the year-ago post, Flanagan cited how the streamer removes content on a whim, and pointed to the importance of audiences being able to outright own media.

Maya Hawke Is Ok With Being a Nepo Baby: ‘I’m Comfortable With Not Deserving It and Doing It Anyway’

“I’ve been wildly made fun of for this clip when I said, on the red carpet, that I auditioned,” Hawke said of “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” “I never meant to imply that I didn’t get the part for nepotistic reasons — I think I totally did.”
Hawke got her big break playing Robin Buckley in the Netflix series “Stranger Things,” and her other credits include “Do Revenge,” “Asteroid City” and “Maestro.”

This article contains spoilers for Netflix’s Eric.
While Stranger Things has announced an animated spinoff and is gearing up for a fifth and final season, a new drama set in ‘80s America has hit Netflix. It’s got monsters, it’s got kids in peril, it’s got a bike and no mobile phones, and it couldn’t be more different.
Created and written by Abi Morgan who penned heart wrenching series River, as well as true life dramas The Iron Lady and Suffragette, Eric stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Victor, a puppeteer on a popular kids’ show whose son Edgar goes missing. He is convinced the way to bring his son home is to create a real life version of the monster Edgar was drawing and get it on the show. And thus Eric is born, both the life-sized suit for an actor to wear, and the darker figment...
