We know that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming a bigger and bigger part of our lives and that it is slowly entering our daily lives in more ways than we could imagine. And while this article is hand-written by a person, not an AI bot, it will be about the potential benefits of Artificial Intelligence that could, potentially, break Hollywood and change the movie and streaming industry forever. We know that using AI in the process of filmmaking has been a controversial topic for some time now, and that some filmmakers were criticized for their usage of AI in the production process.
On the other hands, even major studios are now starting to rely on AI more and more to cut costs and to automatize some parts of the production process. But what if AI completely replaces everything? What if you can, from the comfort of your own home, create...

A “300” TV series adaptation is in early development at Warner Bros. Television, Variety has learned from sources.
Exact plot details are still being worked out, but sources say that the show would serve as a prequel to the 2006 film. No writer or platform is currently attached to the project.
Deals are still being negotiated, but Zack Snyder, who directed and co-wrote “300,” is in talks to direct and executive produce the series. Deborah Snyder, who executive produced “300,” would also return as an executive producer under her and Zack’s Stone Quarry production banner, with Stone Quarry’s Wesley Coller also on board. Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, and Bernie Goldmann — all of whom were producers on the film — are likewise in talks to return.
Reps for Wbtv declined to comment.

Plenty of adult animated shows seem to last forever, but the most impressive thing about the decades-long run of “South Park” is the series’ willingness to evolve and change. Sure, the bones of Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s Comedy Central series have remained consistent: its foul-mouthed dialogue, offensive humor, surrealist tendencies, and central group of four elementary school boys have carried from the first episode through and beyond the show’s 300th.
But the exploits that Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny get into around their Colorado mountain town these days look a lot different than they did back in 1997, when the show first premiered. Over the seasons — and decades — Parker and Stone have stayed the primary creators behind the show, and watching it back is one way of tracking their growth as writers. After three seasons that relied extensively on toilet humor (not that fart and poop jokes have...

It appears that we’re living in the worst timeline as generative artificial intelligence continues to transform the entertainment industry. As AI insists on muddying the waters for creative content made by flesh-and-blood artists, Fable Studio officially announced Showrunner on Thursday, an AI platform that can write, voice, and animate episodes of shows it carries. The goal of the service is to allow users to watch AI-generated series and create content from those assets. In other words, users can create dialogue, characters, and professional-grade staging for dynamic camera angles and other features seen in popular content.
Last year, Fable shared an example of the Showrunner tech by creating an original episode of South Park using the AI platform’s unique tools and tech. The result is uncanny and, quite frankly, terrifying from a creative standpoint. The 11-minute demo highlights Showrunner’s ability to generate dialogue, animate characters, and present what...

A new app wants to become the “Netflix of AI,” allowing users to watch one of its AI-generated animated series on-demand. Not yet moved? The Showrunner app then allows the viewers to use AI to create their own episodes of the show.
AI production company Fable Studios has today launched the app in its Alpha stage to the public. With it, they’re releasing the first two episodes of an animated series created with Showrunner’s AI tools, a tech-industry satire called “Exit Valley” that looks quite similar to the animation style seen on “South Park” or “Rick and Morty.”
The first episode, which you can watch here, imagines Gold Rush-era ancestors of Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, and the Winklevoss twins fighting to the death over the valuable element in a satirical take on the cutthroat battle over Facebook. Even their “South Park” is…not quite “South Park.” And...

Generative artificial intelligence is coming for streaming, with the release of a platform dedicated to AI content that allows users to create episodes with a prompt of just a couple of words.
Fable Studio, an Emmy-winning San Francisco startup, on Thursday announced Showrunner, a platform the company says can write, voice and animate episodes of shows it carries. Under the initial release, users will be able to watch AI-generated series and create their own content — complete with the ability to control dialogue, characters and shot types, among other controls.
The endeavor marks the tech industry’s further encroachment onto Hollywood as it eyes the exploitation of AI tools embroiled in controversy over their potential to streamline production and the possibility they were created using copyrighted materials from creators they could eventually displace. Amid the industry’s historic dual strikes last year, in which the use of AI emerged as a contentious negotiating point,...

More money, more problems. That seems to be the motto of Netflix’s brand new competition series, in which one contestant is saddled with a $1 million prize as the other 11 players fight to hunt them down and claim it for themselves.
The series, with the working title “Million Dollar Secret,” will be hosted by Peter Serafinowicz, the British comedian and actor whose credits include “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Shaun of the Dead,” “John Wick: Chapter 2” and “Spy.”
Here’s how the competition works, in Netflix’s own words: “The million-dollar prize is won by one of 12 players right at the start of the first episode. Now, the others will hunt them down – eliminate the millionaire and the money moves to someone new. When should they strike? Too soon and they become the target; too late and they may never get the money. Meanwhile, the millionaire can try to...

The latest South Park special for Paramount+, South Park: The End of Obesity, has arrived, unleashing its comedic ire on all the major players in the weight-loss industry, from Ozempic and Mounjaro to pop star Lizzo and her message of body positivity. For her part, Lizzo has officially responded to the jokes.
The jab at Lizzo comes when it’s revealed that her persona as a cheaper alternative to Ozempic, one which won’t result in any actual weight loss, but can make you “no longer care about weight.” Cartman is prescribed the Lizzo treatment, with his doctor recommending “to listen to Lizzo five times a day,” before warning, “I’m afraid you’ll have to be on Lizzo for the rest of your life.” Later in the episode, Cartman laments that “rich people get Ozempic, poor people get body positivity.”
Responding to the jokes, though, Lizzo took pride in the reference.

Venom 3 Will Reportedly Introduce This Major Spider-Man Character. (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Venom 3, titled Venom The Last Dance, will reportedly introduce a main character from the Spider-Man universe. While the movie, set to release later this year, has remained tight-lipped about the plot, YouTuber 3c Films alleged he was in possession of an alleged synopsis leak.
The Youtuber revealed the introduction of a main character from Sony’s Spider-Man universe to the Venom franchise. It should be noted that Sony purchased the rights to Marvel Spider-Man for $7 million in the ’90s.
The last film, Venom Let There Be Carnage, saw Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and his Venom counterpart fleeing to an unknown island to evade the authorities after defeating Carnage. The post-credit scene showed Venom — the extraterrestrial Symbiote who speaks to Eddie in his mind – telling him about the existence of a multiverse before enticing him with the knowledge, prompting him to accept the offer.

We’ve seen science do some pretty incredible things on South Park over the years, from engineering a talking towel to creating a monkey with four (no, five!) asses. But attempting to make Eric Cartman thin? Now Trey Parker and Matt Stone are just playing God.

But the show’s latest Paramount+ special, South Park: The End of Obesity, threatens to change everything by introducing Ozempic to the quiet, little mountain town.

After 27 years, 26 seasons, and 325 episodes of television, South Park could be forgiven for wanting to try something new. So that’s exactly what creators, showrunners, and stars Trey Parker and Matt Stone are doing with their crass, yet beloved animated franchise.
When the duo reached a $900 million deal with MTV Entertainment Studios to produce new episodes of South Park through season 30, they also locked themselves in to creating 14 South Park movies for streaming service Paramount+. The first of these near feature-length specials, “South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid” premiered at the end of 2021 and has since been followed by many more.
Of course, South Park has never been afraid of extended running times. Recent seasons have experimented with serialization and the series even received its own theatrically-released film with South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut in 1999. It seems like fans accuse everyone of using the drug Ozempic these days. Anytime someone loses weight, fans accuse them of using the drug to do so. Now, Matt Stone and Trey Parker are bringing the controversial drug to South Park. It is no surprise that the storyline will feature Eric Cartman.
Here is a look at the upcoming South Park special and what it plans to say about Ozempic.
South Park Targeting Ozempic
Ozempic is a drug meant to help people with Type 2 Diabetes. However, it also has a side effect that includes weight loss. This has meant that many people have received prescriptions for Ozempic to lose weight. As a result, this means there is a shortage of this. It also caused a shortage of similar medications such as Trulicity since people using Ozempic have had to switch to stay medicated.

What exactly is BASEketball anyway? If you’re a child of a certain era, you know exactly what it is. If not, well, let me explain. In the late nineties, the hottest comic duo was no doubt Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Together, they had charted a unique path to stardom. Two University Of Colorado grads, the two had their beginnings in the early nineties when they made a micro-budget indie called Cannibal: The Musical, which, despite failing to get into the Sundance Film Festival, became kind of a calling card for them. It got them a unique job directing a corporate film about Universal Pictures for Seagrams, who were acquiring the company, thanks to the patronage of David Zucker, one of the directors behind The Naked Gun, Top Secret and Airplane, who was a fan of their movie. They parlayed their success into a low-budget comedy called Orgazmo, which...

“There’s one important thing to know about ‘Smiling Friends,’” the show’s co-creator Zach Hadel said during a recent Zoom interview with IndieWire. “It’s not smart.”
It was a reoccurring sentiment. Over the course of our conversation, Hadel and co-creator Michael Cusack repeatedly called their show “dumb,” “stupid,” “not smart,” and, in one colorful tangent, suggested that society would be better off if they were barred from producing television and sent to work in underground mines. But their humility masks a deep commitment to silliness that might be the secret to making “Smiling Friends” feel so damn refreshing.
The animated series, which follows an eclectic group of nonprofit employees who are tasked with making sad people smile (and are legally obligated to do anything a sad customer asks until they smile), was a massive hit in alternative comedy circles when it premiered on Adult Swim in 2022. Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s Team America: World Police is debuting on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format: more here.
For their cinematic follow up to South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, writers and directors Trey Parker and Matt Stone decided it’d be a good idea to make a film with puppets. As we covered in a Film Stories podcast episode before, they would soon appreciate just how difficult it was to do.
The film that resulted from their labours was Team America: World Police, a brutally funny comedy action satire, with some memorable songs in the midst of it too. Originally released in 2004, to now mark the 20th birthday of the film, it’s got a 4K makeover, and is coming to the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format for the first time.
We’ve got Paramount to thank for this, who is issuing the film on 24th June 2024 on the format.

Jerry Seinfeld has been a recognized comedy star since the early ‘90s, but he has some concerns about modern audiences no longer being interested in watching comedies on their televisions just like what they used to do back in the day.

In the age of streaming platforms, the balance of power in television has changed. Studio bosses started spending many times more money on TV series, cutting the number of episodes so that viewers could binge on the entire season, and investing no less, if not more, in advertising and PR than they would for a major motion picture.
Competition has increased, with popular shows replacing each other every month, sometimes even every week.
20 years ago everything was different – the competition was not so fierce, but it was also more difficult to attract an audience. Channel management had to keep viewers glued to their screens for 20-30 episodes to keep ratings from dropping. Some projects failed and were quickly canceled, while others stayed on for nine full seasons, like 24.

Eric Cartman’s shocking moments in South Park are some of the most outrageous depictions on television. The character created by South Park creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, is easily the most controversial and favorite character of the adult animated sitcom. He carried the show from the get-go with an obscene narrative in the premiere episode, “Cartman Get an Anal Probe.” From farting fire and ejecting an alien machine through his rectum in the first episode, Eric Theodore Cartman has personified everything wrong and inappropriate since the show’s debut in August 1997. The show stands out with its over-the-top and campy kills in a franchise that centers around a possessed doll with a lust for bloody macabre.
